WENK AF Air Filter User Guide

1. Product Overview
Technical Specifications:
- Filtration Precision: 5μm
- Operating Pressure: 0.1-1.0MPa
- Operating Temperature: -10°C to 60°C
- Features: Transparent polycarbonate bowl, manual drain valve

2. Installation Steps
1. Pre-installation Preparation
- Ensure the compressed air system is shut off and depressurized
- Clean the connecting pipes to remove foreign objects and impurities
- Prepare necessary tools: wrench, PTFE tape, etc.
- Inspect the filter for any visible damage
2. Installation Location Selection
- Should be installed at the front end of the air treatment system
- Position as close to the air-consuming equipment as possible, generally within 7.5 meters
- Choose a location convenient for operation and maintenance
- Ensure vertical installation with the drain valve facing downward
3. Pipe Connection
- Install according to the direction indicated by the arrow on the filter (arrow points in the direction of air flow)
- Connect the inlet to the upstream air source and the outlet to downstream equipment
- Use PTFE tape to seal threaded connections ensuring a good seal
- Tighten connections evenly with a wrench, avoiding excessive force that may damage the interface
4. Post-installation Inspection
- Ensure all connections are secure and free from looseness
- Verify the filter is installed vertically
- Confirm the air flow direction matches the arrow indication

3. Operation Guide
1. Startup Operation
- Slowly open the upstream air source valve to gradually increase pressure
- Check for any leakage from the filter
- Inspect the transparent polycarbonate bowl for cracks or damage
2. Manual Drain Operation
- Drain when condensed water in the transparent bowl reaches the level below the filter element
- Rotate the drain knob at the bottom of the bowl clockwise to open the drain valve
- After draining, rotate the knob counterclockwise to close the drain valve
- It is recommended to drain at least once daily, with increased frequency in high humidity environments
3. Pressure Adjustment (if equipped)
- Pull up the pressure adjustment knob, rotate clockwise to increase pressure, counterclockwise to decrease pressure
- After adjusting to the required pressure, press down the knob to lock the setting

4. Maintenance
1. Daily Inspection
- Regularly check the transparent bowl to observe condensed water level
- Inspect the filter for any leakage
- Check the integrity of connecting pipes
2. Filter Element Replacement
- Replace the filter element when it appears visibly dirty or when pressure drop increases
- Replacement steps:
- Shut off the air supply and depressurize the system
- Unscrew the filter bowl and remove the old filter element
- Clean the inner wall of the bowl
- Install the new filter element ensuring a proper seal
- Reinstall the bowl ensuring a tight connection
3. Maintenance Schedule
- Filter element replacement: Generally every 3-6 months, depending on operating environment
- Transparent bowl inspection: Before each use
- Drain operation: At least once daily

5. Precautions
1. Safety Precautions
- Always shut off the air supply and depressurize before installation and maintenance
- Do not exceed the maximum working pressure of 1.0MPa
- Avoid use in high-temperature environments exceeding 60°C
- Do not strike the transparent bowl with sharp objects
2. Usage Limitations
- For compressed air systems only
- Not suitable for corrosive gas environments
- Avoid direct sunlight and strong vibrations
3. Troubleshooting
- Filter Blockage: Replace the filter element
- Leakage: Check connections for tightness, replace seals if necessary
- Drainage Difficulties: Check for drain valve blockage, clean or replace as needed

6. Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: How to determine when the filter element needs replacement? A1: Replace the filter element when it shows obvious discoloration, increased pressure drop, or decreased filtration efficiency.
Q2: What to do if the drain valve cannot close properly? A2: Check for foreign objects blocking the drain valve, clean or replace the drain valve assembly.
Q3: What if the transparent bowl develops cracks? A3: Immediately stop using the filter and replace the transparent bowl to avoid safety accidents.
Q4: What causes excessive pressure drop across the filter? A4: Possible causes include a clogged filter element (needs replacement) or flow rate exceeding the filter's rated capacity.
